Candy Lei Kit

A candy lei kit is a very popular children’s gift in Hawaii and throughout the mainland. They are available in assorted colors and designs.  Each candy lei kit contains all the materials to make five candy leis – you just add your favorite wrapped candy or other item.

Perfect for graduation, kid’s birthday parties and school or church events. After making leis your keiki will enjoy wearing them until time to enjoy the candy. You can also use candy lei kits as a teaching moment. Take the occasion to talk about Hawaii and the meaning of lei giving.  And have them look into the story behind each design.

Candies you may want to try might be Werther’s Toffee Candies, or maybe Hershey’s Kisses or any other candy your kids will want to eat after wearing!  You will need ten pieces of candy for each lei.  Just make sure to use wrapped candy so it doesn’t stick to the inside of the lei wrapper.

And they’re not just for candy. Use your imagination to wrap small toys, bottles or even surprise them with money. And each tube need not contain the same thing. Let the kid’s be creative and mix it up a bit.

The candy lei is made with a plastic sleeve with a Hawaiian print design.  There are ribbon ties used to separate the candies and a medallion to add to the lei.  Very easy and safe for even young children to enjoy.

Candy lei kits are a way to let your keiki (kids) participate in an end of year ‘graduation.’  Just as older students wear a traditional graduation lei the candy lei is a special treat for younger students.
